In Ground:

FULL DRAINAGE SOIL, is a must for all Palms. Dig the hole about 8"-12" wider than the pot and about 6"-8" deeper. Add about 3"-6" of gravel at the bottom of the hole, then cover the gravel with potting soil and PALM FOOD (you can purchase the PALM FOOD at our Retail Center). Insert the plant into the hole being careful to center the plant, then, add potting soil in the sides about half way to the top and add some more PALM FOOD. Add potting soil to the top and sprinkle PALM FOOD. PALM FOOD should be applied in late March and early July (Twice a year).

Drench the plant with water, let drain and drench with water again. At this point you need to add about, 3"-6" of mulch around the base of the plant. In the hotter months, Palms should be watered twice a week but make sure that good drainage is present.

BE SURE TO ADD 6" OF NEW MULCH AROUND THE PLANT JUST BEFORE WINTER. SOME PALMS MAY NEED TO BE PROTECTED!!

In Pot:

FULL DRAINAGE SOIL, is a must for all Palms, be sure to have plenty of drain holes at the bottom of the Pot. If you have to drill new holes, be sure to take precaution for the ceramic and concrete Pots and use an appropriate drill bit. Be sure the Pot is at least as big as the container the plant is in, we do recommend as large a pot as you can accommodate. Add about 3" of gravel at the bottom of the hole, then cover the gravel with potting soil and PALM FOOD (you can purchase the PALM FOOD at our Retail Center). Insert the plant into the hole being careful to center the plant, then, add potting soil in the sides about half way to the top and add some more PALM FOOD. Add potting soil to the top and sprinkle PALM FOOD.

Drench the plant with water, let drain and drench with water again. At this point you need to add about, 3"-6" of mulch around the base of the plant.

POTTED PLANTS NEED CAREFUL PROTECTION DURING WINTER, INCLUDING INSULATION AROUND THE POT AND THE PLANT ITSELF!!
