Cycas Revoluta (Sago Palm)

Native to southern Japan the Sago palm is not a palm but a cycad. These are living fossils which have evolved very little for millions of years. They have beautiful dark green leaves. It is one of our favorites here at Cold Palms. The plants are cold hardy in zones 7 and above. At 25 deg. F, their leaves are damaged (they turn brown yellow and white); however, they can be cut and a new flush will emerge in the spring (usually May in zone 7).
