Cold Palms is a pioneering company that started researching cold hardy palms and other tropical plants in 2002.  Our mission is to introduce tropical plants to temperate climates such as those found in northern Alabama and southern Tennessee (USDA Growing Zone 7).

In Feburary of 2006, with years of proven research, we opened our retail outlet in Owens Crossroads, Al (suburb of Huntsville, AL).  Since opening, we have done hundreds of customer installs and continued to compile valuable research while beautifying the north Alabama landscape.   We have a large residential customer base and several wholesale customers such as landscapers and other nurseries.  In 2007, we started penetrating the commercial market with much success, such as Double Bubble Car Wash, Point Mallard, Valley Pools, and Sonic Restaurants.

What makes us different from other growers and retailers is that we germinate and grow most of the palms in northern Alabama.  The seedlings are acclimated to the cold from the beginning.  As these palms mature into specimens, we have found that they are much more resilient and tolerant to cold and disease than the ones grown in hotter and more humid climates.
